After having made some law check and find out :
We begun to hike in the Abel Tasman National Park especially on the Coast track and then on the Inland Track, much more interesting (not flat as a highway) and much less busy.

Nelson lakes
The Nelson lakes area is pretty nice and a little bit similar to Wanaka and Queenstown. We stayed 2 nights there and did a little hike on the Mt Robert. We saw crazy eels which were just amazing.
